About the program

Two weeks of living right by the sea and the cliffs. We do not waste time travelling between locations—we stay on Tonsai Beach, climb at the crag every day, and gradually immerse ourselves in the world of Thai rock climbing. The program is structured to alternate training, practice, and rest. Even on non-climbing days, the jungle, sea, beaches, and Railay’s most beautiful places await us.

A professional photographer and videographer will join the trip. They will capture the climbing sessions and moments from the journey, so you will have professional photos and videos from Thailand.

Day 1

Check-in on Tonsai

Please arrive in Krabi by 13:00 local time. We meet in Krabi and head to Tonsai. We check in, get to know the group, and explore the nearby crags. In the evening: an introduction to the equipment, a group briefing, and a discussion of the camp program.

Day 2

Getting to Know the Crag

We start with the basics. We get familiar with the climbing equipment, learn how to put on a harness correctly, tie the basic knots, handle the rope, and belay a partner. After the theory, we head to the nearby crags. We take on our first routes calmly and at a comfortable pace. We learn to place our feet correctly, keep our balance, and get a feel for the limestone terrain.

Day 3

Movement Technique

Today we start working on the most important part of rock climbing—technique. We examine footwork, body position, center of gravity, different types of holds, and ways to conserve energy. After the theory, we practice on routes. Each participant receives individual recommendations and gradually starts to feel more confident on the wall.

Day 4

Jungle and Hidden Lagoon

After two days of climbing, we take a break. We head through the tropical jungle to Hidden Lagoon—a hidden lagoon inside a rock formation near Phra Nang. After the trek, we relax on Phra Nang Beach, spend time by the sea, and return to the hotel.

Day 5

Sport Climbing

We return to training. We look at how equipped routes are set up, how to work with quickdraws and protection points, the sequence for climbing a route, and the basics of lead belaying. After the theory, we practice on routes. We learn to clip, handle the rope correctly, and stay calm at height. *In rock climbing, clipping (or clipping in) means clipping the rope into the carabiner of a quickdraw to provide protection while climbing on lead.*

Day 6

Lead Climbing

Today we take the next step. We take an in-depth look at lead-climbing technique, correct clipping, rope handling, and what to do in the event of a fall. During practice, participants gradually begin climbing routes independently. The instructor works individually with each participant, helping them correct mistakes and improve their technique.

Day 7

Sea and Sunset

Recovery day. We go sea kayaking along the coast. We explore bays, islands, and limestone walls from the water. After we return, we have free time to enjoy the sea and beach. In the evening, we gather to watch the sunset over the Andaman Sea.

Day 8

Learn to Read a Route

We return to the crag. We learn to analyze a route before we start climbing: look for the sequence of movements, plan our clipping in advance, find rest points, and manage our energy. After the theory, we practice on routes. The main task for the day is to learn not just to move upward, but to understand the route and plan our climb.

Day 9

Rock Climbing on Tonsai

A full day on the crag. We climb on varied terrain, try vertical sections and overhangs, and develop strength, coordination, and endurance. Each participant has the opportunity to try a route slightly above their usual level.

Day 10

Recovery Day

We take a complete break from training. Sea, beach, walks around the Railay peninsula, Thai cuisine, a massage, or simply relaxing in the shade of the palms. This is a day to recover and recharge before the final part of the camp.

Day 11

Working on Your Personal Level

Today we start working individually. We analyze tactics for climbing more difficult routes, learn to rest properly on the wall, conserve energy, and maintain concentration. Each participant chooses a route or a small project and works on climbing it with the instructor.

Day 12

Final Climbing Day

Last full day on the crag. By now, participants are already confident with the equipment, technique, and terrain. So today, participants work more independently. We choose the best routes, try to apply everything we have learned over the two weeks, make our final attempts, and take photos and videos. At the end of the day, we review each participant’s progress as a group.

Day 13

Sea and Final Sunset

The last day is reserved for rest and enjoying the atmosphere of Thailand. Sea, beach, walks, free time, and a final dinner with the whole group. In the evening, we watch our last sunset on Tonsai and bring our camp to a close.

Until We Meet Again

Day 14

Until We Meet Again

We have breakfast, pack our things, and head back to Krabi. The two weeks come to an end, but new skills, experience, new acquaintances, and the desire to return to the crag remain.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rent equipment?
  • If you do not want to buy equipment or want to reduce your luggage, you can rent all the equipment. The organizer provides ropes and quickdraws. Rental of personal equipment is not included in the price.
What clothing should I bring for climbing?
  • Thailand is warm during this period, so it is best to bring lightweight, quick-drying clothing. For climbing, I would recommend not bringing too many clothes—the humid climate and heat mean that they will dry quickly anyway.
Do I need a large trekking backpack?
  • A large trekking backpack is not needed for our out-and-back trips.
Do I need separate trekking gear for the outing to the lagoon?
  • We will have an outing to the lagoon near Phra Nang. Separate trekking gear is not required; the list of items for this outing is provided in the equipment section.
How do booking, payment and cancellations work?

Start by submitting an application and waiting for approval from your trip manager. Pay the deposit within 5 days (120 hours) after your application is approved by the manager, and no later than the programme start. The exact deadline is shown on your trip status page. Your place is secured once we receive it.

The deposit forms part of the total trip price. The deposit pays for consultations, booking services with partners and organising the trip, so it is non-refundable if you choose to cancel your participation.

The remaining balance for your selected departure must be paid no later than October 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM (Astana).

If the deposit is received after the usual balance deadline, the balance is due by the end of the 10th working day in the Astana calendar following the deposit, capped at the programme start. The exact deadline is shown on your trip status page.

If your plans change, notify your trip manager that you wish to cancel. If you have already paid the remaining balance for the programme:

  • If the Company receives your cancellation notice at least 60 calendar days before the programme starts, the remaining balance paid is refunded in full.
  • If your cancellation notice is received fewer than 60 calendar days before the programme starts, actual, documented expenses incurred in preparing your trip and not covered by the deposit may be deducted from the remaining balance paid. If there are no such expenses, the remaining balance paid is refunded in full.

Amounts returned or due to be returned by partners are excluded from the calculation of deducted expenses. The Company’s fee is included in the retained deposit and is not deducted again.

Your trip manager checks the documents and confirms the refund calculation. If cancellation results from the Company’s breach of its obligations, the amount paid, including the deposit, is refunded in full. Refunds are paid within 5 working days in the Astana calendar from the date the grounds for the refund arise, without waiting for funds from the partner.

For full details, see Booking and Payment.
